Running Gait Analysis
Don’t let aches or pains keep you from living your best life. Whether you are training for your next race, jogging/walking to keep active and healthy, or just taking walks to enjoy nature - we are here to help. Commonly, people who enjoy walking or running experience a number of lower body issues that can sidetrack them from their goals. If you experience low back pain, hip pain, knee pain, or foot/ankle pain during your walk or run, consider getting a running gait analysis.
At Shift Physical Therapy and Wellness, we perform running gait analysis for individuals of all fitness levels. A typical analysis will involve the participant warming up on a treadmill for several minutes, followed by the therapist taking several 30 second video clips of your movement. Here’s what to expect:
2 sessions that are 30 to 45 minutes in length. During the first session, we will get some general health and running background information. You will then be asked to do a brief warm up on the treadmill. Following the warm up, you will be filmed running on the treadmill at your average running pace. We will take 30 second video clips from the back, both sides, and front view.
At your second visit, we will review the findings of your running gait analysis followed by any recommendations on how to improve your running form, efficiency, and minimize your risk for injury!
You do not need to be a part of a physical therapy plan of care to participate in a running gait analysis and no doctor’s orders are needed!
The cost for a running gait analysis is $80 per session.
