SHIFT: More than just a business name
Once upon a time in 2020, a vision became our reality. Shift Physical Therapy and Wellness was born. Of course there was a lot of thought and consideration put forth into the name and “look” of Shift before it was even close to opening it’s doors in 2020.
For example, our business name has our 5 core values built directly into the name:
S - Self-love
H - Hard work
I - Inspiration
F - Family
T - Trust
It wasn’t by accident that our logo had a pentagon shape (5 points) to also further symbolize our 5 core values. We also had an arrow moving forward inside of that pentagon shape to symbolize forward movement for Jackie and I as individuals, business owners, and providers. It also symbolizes the forward progress of the community we are serving towards better health and wellness.
Even our primary colors of Shift represent meaning for us. Wine/Red color: represents warmth, confidence, power, ambition, and strength. Dark Gray color: represents balance, calm and sophistication.
Now, fast forward to 2022. Why is Shift re-branding already?! Of course there is some practicality to our re-branding…like having a logo that is easier to fit onto some of our awesome apparel items (new items to launch SOON!), and also improving the ability to see the ‘Physical Therapy and Wellness’ part of our logo.
We think you can also appreciate the thoughts that went into our new look. We haven’t lost sight of our 5 core values — you’ll notice that the arrow in our new design has our 5 original core values (5 points on the arrow). So, while our pentagon shape is being retired, our new design retains the importance of building our business with our 5 core values in our minds. Our new font is pretty sweet too, the slight lean forward to our SHIFT makes it even more obvious that we continue to make the SHIFT forward, and Physical Therapy and Wellness gets some well-deserved attention by staying readable!
We are pretty excited about the new look of our logo, and we hope you are too. Ultimately, the part that really matters your experience at Shift, not whether we have a square or pentagon shaped logo. Now comes the cheesy part, I truly believe that the Shift experience continues to be amazing because of the community we are serving. The amazing women, men, and families that have supported our business over the past two years have only helped to STRENGTHEN the core values and keep us moving forward like our arrow and font in our new logo indicate.
What will Shift Physical Therapy and Wellness look like in 2025? 2027? 2035 and beyond? TBD. With certainty, I can tell you that it will continue to have Self-love, Hard work, Inspiration, Family, and Trust woven into the fabric of it’s existence.
Jackie and I can’t thank all of you enough for your love and support during the last two years of Shift, and we look forward to every step forward in the years to come!
